Training Basic knowledge and skills in assisting victims of human trafficking
Association Pro Refugiu had organized a training under the project Change and Challenge Improve social services provided to victims of human trafficking, financed through EEA Grants 2009-2014, NGO Fund in Romania. The event took place between 28-28 Mai 2015 in Bucharest and had as target group 18 social workers and psychologists from the General Directorates for Social Assistance and Child Protection and NGOs. Training thematic consisted in: the assistance services for victims; the multidisciplinary approach in the assistance process; standards of conduct for professionals working in institutions and NGOs assisting victims of human trafficking; mentoring and peer to peer as innovative methods in supporting victims during their reintegration process in society; the outreach system. The trainers presented information on how assistance is provided for victims in Norway, data obtained during the study visit that took place in Oslo at the beginning of May 2015 with the support of the Norwegian partner organization Pro Sentret. The training was an interactive one, the trainers used various group exercises and case studies. Participants considered the training useful and would like such training sessions to be organized periodically which that can lead to the improvement of professional knowledge, exchange of information / best practices in relation with cases assisted.
