Study Visit in Norway

Association Pro Refugiu implemented a study visit in Oslo Norway under the project Change and Challenge Improve social services provided to victims of human trafficking, financed through EEA Grants 2009-2014, NGO Fund in Romania. The event took place between 4 May 2015 – 7 May 2015 and had been organized with the support of the Norwegian partner organization Pro Sentret. Through the study visit relevant information were obtained regarding the assistance services for victims of human trafficking in Norway. Association Pro Refugiu professionals met with Norwegian specialists, having interactive discussions on topics linked to social, medical and legal assistance. Meetings with professionals from Pro Sentret, Lauras Hus (a shelter for women victims of human trafficking), Red Cross, Fafo Research Institute, KOM ( Police Department with role in fight against human trafficking), Child Welfare Service, Lawyers. The information obtained will be used to improve the way in which assistance is provided in Romania for the victims of human trafficking and a first step will consist in including the data gathered in a training manual for professionals working in General Directorates of Social Assistance and Child Protection and NGOs active in assisting victims.
